Entwined With You by Sylvia Day

The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts, and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires…

From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside–so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.

No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession...

This is my most favorite book in the series...so far.***

I liked how some lingering questions in the first two books got closure in this book. I liked how, despite the common premise, this book still managed to surprise me in some ways.

***SPOILERS*** I would, however, like to think that Gideon did not kill Nathan because I would not want that in his conscience. Please let this be another a-ha moment later on in the series. Especially since SD does those so well. I love the secret wedding twist. And I don't have to explain why because who wouldn't?

But I hate the twist to Cary's story. He could be an idiot sometimes but I don't think that his character particularly deserved what happened to him. But I have high hopes for him and I hope that my ending of his story eventually happens somewhere in the later books.

I totally get now ladies' obsession for Gideon Cross. I mean, who wouldn't want to be Eva, right? Just her present though. I would not wish her past on someone I don't like.

*** I really thought that this series was just a trilogy. And I thought that with how the story was going here, everything will be wrapped in by the time the last page came. But, no, they effing did not get wrapped up and by the time I got to the last page, I was probably left there with the biggest WTF face ever. Whyyyyyy? I do not get it. This series does not need anymore installments. And then when I checked just now, I found there are going to be two more. Something better be fantabuloustic in between those pages or this series is going downhill...fast.

Final verdict: 8/10. Great read.

Reflected In You by Sylvia Day

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...

I'll make this review a quick one.

I am surprised at how I am liking this series as I go along. It took some prodding from a couple of friends before I finally decided to get on the Gideon Cross caravan because I am just too loyal to The Christian Grey. And after the similarities between these two books, it's as hard to compare as it is not to.

Despite all that, SD managed to put her personal style in an overly used storyline these days. Thank God for that because this second book in the series turned out to be better the than first one. Or maybe I have gotten rid of my biases against this series?

With that said, let me take a Cross break and will definitely be moving on the third book in the series. Yep, can't wait!

Final verdict: 8/10. Great read.

Bared To You by Sylvia Day

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness…

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds...and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as i prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

I know, I know. If you have read Fifty Shades, you have read them all. At least that's what others say. I don't care if an innumerable people have said that this trilogy is a Grey ripoff but noone can keep me from Gideon Cross. Really.

I did see the similarities to Fifty but this was still a good read. And with all the other "Fifty books" floating around, it was just a matter of finding the good from the bad.

Nevertheless, this was still an interesting book despite the common premise. Gideon AND Eva both turned to have troubled pasts so that levels out the field. But Gideon still displayed the typical alpha billionaire hero that just could't get his hands off one of his employees.

If there was nothing else to enjoy in this book, there were always the secondary characters. I loved Eva's bestfriend, Cary. He was a crazy (but hot!) character and there was in there somewhere and I am looking forward to reading more about him. There was also Eva's boss, Mark, that I couldn't stop imagining as being flamboyant. There were other minor characters that actually inject a lot on interest into the plot...even if some were Gideon's exes. Damn it.

Although this book may not be in my favorites shelf ever, I do look forward to reading more of the characters and finding out what really eventually happens in the end. So I'm lining up books two and three already.

Final verdict: 7/10. Good read.
